More heart-warming than I expected

Given the title, I thought this would be much about abuse, but really this is a story of recovery. The society the author has created is disturbing. Rape is common and these people are lost morally. I thought Bran fell into a situation even worse than the hell of his life. However the slave breakers do not break as much as they heal... At least as much as they can in the hoor of this world. I found myself lost in the pain, the hope, the despair and the fear of each character. The world is so real that sometimes I find my heart racing. I will read this again, but not until after I recover from the intense first read

Sucks you in

I love this story. It draws you in with a cast of flawed but sympathetic characters. Despite the twist and turns of abuse and recovery, the story is ultimately one of hope.

Slave fiction with warm fuzzies

I love it when a book wraps me up in warm enveloping arms and makes me feel like I've come home to friends. This was just such a book! The characters were so developed that I felt like they must be real people who live somewhere. I ended up caring for them.
And since this is erotica, I may as well add that real-seeming characters who the reader cares about make for electric and melty sex scenes. There weren't an excessive amount of them and they weren't drawn out, but they made me feel electricity in my spine! It's funny how a brief sex scene that seems to have weighty emotion behind it can be so much more thrilling than the hottest orgy. Don't you think?
I'd like to add that it's refreshing to read slave-fic riddled with warm fuzzies.
I was gonna dock one star for some details in the book not going like my perfect dreams, but this IS slave-fiction--and slavery isn't perfect. In the end I still gave it 5 stars because I think it's really something special.
If you're longing for some gentler, sweet slave fiction, then don't pass this one up.
